Still working away on Lady Eleanor….

I also visited The Black Sheep in Encinitas while visiting Carlsbad and doing a half marathon this weekend. It’s a small store with the most complete selection of Colinette yarns I’ve ever seen as well as having a large variety of the recycled silk and wool from Tibet.

I picked up 2 skeins of the recently reviewed (by Knitter’s Review) Kimona Angora by Louisa Harding in color #6 (pinks, peaches, grey) and am doing the Misty Garden pattern from Scarf Style. Simple but very pretty.

The yarn is a little harder to work with than the Anny Blatt angora I used in Mom’s Angora but it doesn’t shed nearly as much. (I’m having occasional issues with splitting the yarn and had to use bamboo needles rather than my Addi’s — both things noted as potential issues in the review.) It’s very pretty yarn and though there are splashes of bright pink it’s definitely muted by the softer pinks, peaches and greys.
