I cleaned up our side ‘yard’ today and planted peas and fava beans (mostly hoping to improve the soil).  I’d already planted some peas and fava beans in the rooftop earthboxes as well.  The tomatoes are nearly done, as is our bellpepper (I harvested a lovely red-orange pepper this morning).  The lettuce is doing wonderfully, and the seeds I planted (a week or two ago?) along with the earthbox favas are sprouting.

As noted, cleaning fleece is not my favorite thing, but carding….it seems magical, to turn this:

into this:

BFL Batts

BFL Batts

I think I’m going to dye some of these before spinning.  Not sure yet what colors.

I’m waiting to scour the merino until I’ve gotten at least the BFL processed into batts (which I’m hoping to finish this week).  I’m going to go through my fleeces later today just to reacquaint myself with what I have on hand and see what else I need to process.
