Finish the other major knitted Christmas present:  this is almost as tedious as the scarf.
Finish embroidery on Slinky Ribs (otherwise finished [...]

New England Progress & Coffee Roasting

November 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

I have less than 2 diamonds and the toe to complete on New England.  I switched back up to US1’s because the sock was a bit tight across the foot at the gusset.  It’s fine now.   The plan is to finish this today and maybe the embroidery on the Slinky Alpaca top — two FOs?!

Deja Vu New England Heels

November 17th, 2008 · No Comments

***ETA:  okay, for this sock I did this:  (sl1, k1) over 21 st, ssk, turn.  It worked.***
Check out this old post of mine.

More (Knitting) Books than Yarn

November 14th, 2008 · No Comments

I just noticed something in my Ravelry people page.  Look at the stats in the upper right corner.  (For those of you not on Ravelry, apologies.)
I have more books etc in my library (191) than yarn in my stash (176).
Ergo, I must have many more patterns than yarn.
Does that mean I can buy more yarn?

Winter 2008 Twist Collective!

November 14th, 2008 · No Comments

The new Twist Collective is up, and I think it’s as good as, and probably better than, their first issue.
I’m totally in love with Heroine, in my mind more of a jacket than a sweater;  I’d love to make it someday.  I’ve already queued Vivian (who wants another fitted cardi hoodie?  I do!).  Kingscot is [...]

Grassfed Beef

November 12th, 2008 · No Comments

Those of you who are interested in local foods may notice the new link on the lower left column under Local and Sustainable Eating to J&J Grassfed Beef.
Having missed the Torrance Farmer’s Market Saturday, Dave and I decided to go to the Tuesday Torrance FM (we both had the day off).
Though the Tuesday market doesn’t [...]
