St Brigid Progress & (Gasp) Running

Just a quick update — both fronts done to the bottom of the armhole, working on the back.  Hopefully I’ll finish the back to the armholes in a day or two and will be able to join to work in the round.  I have a few corrections to make to the front, but (famous last words) nothing major.

I cheated with the center chart.

I know someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but to me the center is basically charts C & E smooshed together (both charts lose a stitch where you’d join them).  So that’s what I did.  It keeps everything symmetrical, on the same stitch count/row count etc.

On the workout front, we ran (in the wind! in the (slight scattering of) rain!) down to & along the Strand and back up (about 4.5 miles).  Lots of whitecaps.  The dog had fun.  I feel good for doing it.  Oh, and check out the Spring Into Summer Challenge at the Knitigator and/or The Woolen Rabbit.

The only race I’m seriously thinking of doing at this point in time is the Malibu Creek 4 Mile trail run.  Dave & I have done this for the past several years.  Good run & they feed you afterwards, real food.

I am impressed with all the run-training you do. I’ve never done any races or triatholons. I think the last time I actually REALLY ran anywhere was to the lunch line on the first day of 9th grade.
The Malibu Creek Run looks like quite a big event! Again, seeing pictures of the canyon—(it sounds weird but)I can almost smell the dry dirt, the trees, the sense of ocean nearby…
I can see why you’re pumped for it.
