Native Plants: Full Monty

Here’s a pic of the yard I took earlier this week from across the street. (I was going to entitle the post Full Frontal but who knows how hard my Akismet spam blocker would have to work after that).

We do have some manzanitas that should grow taller over time (they seem to be pretty slow growing compared to everything else) so as the years go by the garden will continue to change.

There are so many poppies it’s hard to see our decomposed granite paths.

And here’s a close up of one of the Monkey Flowers….

Very pretty monkey flower; do you know the genus & species? Much brighter than the Sticky Monkey Flower that grows on the hills, which looks so washed out to me.

Wow, your yard looks great! Do you have to water it at all?

We water the fruit trees and veggies….rain does the rest.

Thanks. I’ll take a look next time I’m at Las Pilitas. Best to go while things are in bloom and before it’s too hot!

Just magnificent! It soooo makes me want to rip out my non-native front lawn!
