June Gloom

June Gloom is that SoCal phenomenon that invariably leads to dismay in tourists this time of year. There’s even a Wiki article about it.  It’s also my excuse for not having taken any pics of my one finished Kiila sock, my almost finished Kiila sock, my one finished Helene sock, all that fiber and dyeing mentioned in the last post, and my one finished Endpaper mitt.

Or of the start of my Rivendell sock (singular), which I’m knitting for The Craft’s Meow, in exchange for one of her lovely sock yarns.  This baby will be going with her, I’m assuming, to Sock Summit (lucky sock!).

Or the gorgeous silk & alpaca fiber I won from Julia at Historic Fibers, in her composers contest.

The drizzly weather is good for the garden at least.

I never realized that June Gloom was a California term.

    I’m sure it’s used elsewhere as well….

What’s funny is, June Gloom does not protect one from sunburn. I can attest to many a cloudy burns back in my California days.
Which Craft’s Meow yarn will you be receiving? Rootbeer Float looks divine!
