Yesterday we (Dave, me, Rosemary & Curtis) did a day trip up to Santa Ynez and the surrounding area for winetasting, a picnic, and alpacas.
We tasted & picnicked at Zaca Mesa, then visited Alpacas at West Ranch (Orsino!) and had a lovely visit. Hayley and Joan have an incredible set up with gorgeous animals. [...]

A New Way to Waste Time
September 22nd, 2009 · No Comments
Yep, procrastination at its best.
See that new little progress bar in the upper right?
Rather than work on holiday knitting projects, I spent probably a couple hours
looking for a project bar widget
trying to figure out the first plug in I found (that isn’t yet widgetized, so I was trying to figure out how to make it [...]

Holiday Knitting
September 20th, 2009 · 2 Comments
I have, at this time, approximately 26 holiday gifts planned. (Why not an exact number? Well, I have a couple WIPs/UFOs that may end as Christmas presents too.)
6 pairs of house socks

2 pairs of mittens
6 pairs of fingerless mittens
3 toys (Hansi Singh patterns, so cute)

Hiking, Kayaking & Orcas Moon Alpacas
September 6th, 2009 · 2 Comments
The hiking trip was fun! We hiked around Mountain Lake in Moran State Park. We tasted rose hips (bland), wild grapes (sour) and gooseberries (delicious!) as wells as some greens. We saw banana slugs. Nat had baked some blackberry scones the night before for us that we ate at the end of the hike — [...]

Deer everywhere! Washington Trip in Progress
September 2nd, 2009 · 4 Comments
There are lots of deer in Washington — at least the places we’re visiting! We’ve seen deer every day, including in front of our rental cabin on Orcas.
The first four nights we spent in Dungeness, near Sequim, reasonably convenient to Olympic National Park. We stopped at the visitors’ center for maps and info; the people [...]
