It seems the more projects I finish as Christmas presents, the more I add to the vaunted Excel spreadsheet.  Shortly I’ll be adding an additional four to the desired total on the progress bar (they’re already there in my head).  The good news is that I just finished another test knit, which will be gifted to one of those four.

Recently I’ve tested out two new recipes, both of which turned out disgustingly delectable (and decidedly NOT non-caloric):  the Pioneer Woman’s Cinnamon Rolls, and the NO’s (not Oreos) from Sherry at the Loopy Ewe.  Both are highly recommended, but only if you are applying yourself to a strict workout regimen.

I didn’t have any cocoa, so I subbed some Vahlrona semi sweet for the cocoa for the NO’s (decreasing the amount of butter in the recipe a smidge to make up for the solids in the chocolate).  I also didn’t have any maple flavor, so left that out in the cinnamon rolls.    (No surprise that I couldn’t leave the recipes alone;  I don’t leave knitting patterns alone, why should that change?)  Both turned out fine.  I’ve actually made the cinnamon rolls twice, and will be making the NO’s again soon (I have to, I have some vanilla cream left over!).

What are some of your favorite recipes? They don’t have to be sweet, like the rolls or the NOs.

On the knitting front, I’ve finished the afore-mentioned test knit hat, a test knit goldfish (very cute!), and the Fish square from the GAA.

Here’s a few pics of the squares:
