I’m hoping to get a fair amount of work done on Pippin;  I also need to work on a 2nd fingerless beaded mitten (the pattern was just accepted, but I’d only knit the one).  I also need to work up patterns & spreadsheets for a skirt and a sweater.  And a book review, in between things.  Weekend? Hah!

This morning we’re heading the farmer’s market.  I’d like to get a lot of peaches and nectarines.  I love stone fruit!  It’s one of my favorite things about summer.  If there’s asparagus I’d like to get some too.  And avocados.  Maybe poblano peppers, if anyone has any.  (I like to cook it with eggs, serve with salsa.)  I just found this Guide to Asian Produce on the Farmer’s Market website.  I like greens, so I’ve tried mustard greens, Chinese broccoli, etc;  I also like bok choy.  However, I’ve never tried Daikon & am curious about it.

I did pick 3 plums from one of our plum trees (I’m sorry, I don’t know the varietal off the top of my head) — they are delicious, with beautiful burgundy skin and lovely orange to deep burgundy flesh.  I also picked a slew more tomatoes.  I never made the mozzarella last week — but that sounds like a good project for this weekend.
