The Winter Knitcircus 201o is live!  Yep, that’s my sweater on the cover!  Jaala found yet another lovely model for it.  I love the color theme of the issue with the blues and bits of brighter colors like the orange.

The yarn is Blue Sky Alpacas Melange.  You can’t tell from the pictures but in person it’s soft and beautifully heathered.

The main stitch pattern is an adaptation of the one I used in the Kelpie mitts.  The sweater is worked top down (stitches picked up from the saddle straps) then joined in the round after the armhole shaping.  Of course there’s waist shaping (front & back darts) adjacent the patterned panels.

I’m especially pleased with the sleeve details.

You can purchase the complete pattern collection through Knitcircus for $7.99.  For that price, you get a plethora of lovely sweaters (I really love Isabelle Boutin’s Tresse de Vie) and accessories (Kris Jaeger’s Monte Vista collar makes me want to get better at crochet, and Natalie Servant’s Tudor Ruffles is lovely).
