Subconscious Color Choices

Here’s my second favorite mug:

(My first favorite mug is my Intelligenstia diner-style mug.)

Dave and I both got mugs several years ago as souvenirs when we did a Spring Break road trip to Zion and Bryce National Parks.  We found a potter in the little town outside the park who made all sorts of things, included, obviously, mugs.  I really loved the shiny lavender glaze against the matte rusty brown.

Here are the cakes of yarn for the Black Water Abbey cardi:

Hey, it’s important to know what you like. 🙂 I’m always kind of amazed when I like anything that is in the red/orange/yellow/yellow-green family… (like these mustard-yellow bowls that I just got that I love dearly, no clue where that came from) because I so consistently gravitate toward ocean and berry colours.

The funny thing is, when I got the color card a couple weeks ago, I was trying to pair up other than typical colors, and these two caught my eye. I wasn’t even thinking of the mug, til I was using it this a.m. and it all dawned on me!

I’m sure your cardigan will be very beautiful. I love the mug for inspiration; inspiration is all around us when we look! 🙂
