DIPs

I’m nearly done with the tank for the Summer Knitcircus — just need to do the final tweaks to the pattern and get some pics.  It’s my first design with cotton yarn, as opposed to wool.  One note:  the lace really needs to be wet blocked.  Toss in in the dryer and it’s….not pretty.  I did learn you can take good advantage of cotton’s tendency to grow by wetting the lace portion ocean & hanging the top up and letting the lace stretch out.  It’s designed with minimal finishing, so once you’re done, you’re done.  I think it’s a cute top for summer, perfect with shorts, jeans, a cotton skirt….

The folks at Sanguine Gryphon are putting the final editing touches on the Spring Art Nouveau pattern line.  I’ve seen the pics for Simone, my patten, and the official pics are lovely.  Can’t wait to share this one with you guys!  ETA:  Got released Tuesday afternoon!  It’ll get its own post tomorrow.  You can see the glorious SG pics here.

I’m back at it with the Ennea cardi.  Lots of cables and moss stitch, but with some stockinette in between to give your brain a rest.  I’ve joined (again) for the armholes and have just a few more rows before I’m done with the neckline increases.  It seems like it’s going well.  The good news about having to frog & repeat several times is that I’ve been able to improve it each time around.

The dreaded business plan

…is finally fairly organized.  There’s still lots to work on, to finesse, but I have a clearer idea of what I want to do, and ideas on how to get there.  It includes a mission statement, identification of the types of customers I want to reach, the types of companies I want to work with, how I’ll distribute patterns, and a general year round schedule (very rough) of to whom & for which patterns I’ll submit patterns, and what sorts I’ll self publish & organize into collections.
