So much has happened in the last day or so!

California Revival Knits is up for preorder!!!   The patterns are with the tech editor as I type this, and we’re HOPING to get the book to the printer before Christmas (no promises, though!).  Regardless, the digital version will be available when the book goes to the printer.  I’ll keep you guys posted with updates and let you know as soon as I know a concrete date!

What that also means….is trunk shows, classes, and then book signings once the book is released!

Which is the other exciting news:  I’m doing a trunk show in Austin at The Knitting Nest November 12-13!  I’m also teaching a couple classes:  one, based on the Mittens! booklet (these mitts make great Christmas gifts, guys!  and lots of options between the cuffs, fingerless vs full, aran vs worsted weight); and a second, Creating Your Own Style Guide for Self Published Patterns.  Contact Stacy at the Knitting Nest to sign up!

Wrought Mitts in Stricken Smitten yarn!

Here’s a sneak peak of one of the patterns from the book.  These are the Wrought Mitts, worked in just gorgeous BFL/silk yarn from Stricken Smitten.  My testers told me that these were addictive, along the lines of ‘must…knit…one…more…round!’

These mitts are part of the set of patterns inspired by wrought iron gates, window grills, and stair rails.  Sounds fancy, eh?  But seriously, I think there’s a simple beauty to be found in the swoops and curves of wrought iron.  Let me know what you think!

(And that table?  I picked it up at a garage sale & painted it turquoise.  Since then, it’s sat on a front porch, serving as a plant stand & generally useful flat surface.  It also has a drawer that’s great for storing small garden tools.  The paint has peeled & flaked over the years, but I like it.)
