All You Need Is…

Make some special mitts for your mom (or anyone you love) out of warm, rich nubby tweed.

These mitts incorporate a variety of techniques: two color cast on, Vikkel braids, picot hem, closed cables, corrugated ribbing….Options are given, however, for simpler mittens.

Finished size: Fits women’s med/lg, up to 8” around palm.

• Actual palm circumference: 7.5″.
• Length: 7.25″.
• Cuff length: 2″.

Needles: US2/2.75 mm, or size to obtain gauge.

Notions:  3 stitch markers; tapestry needle; cable needle.

Gauge: 26 sts & 38 rows = 4” in St st in the rnd.

Skills/techniques: reading charts, cabling, stranded knitting (for corrugated ribbing), hemmed bind off. Willingness to learn Vikkel braid, corrugated ribbing, two color braided cast on (instructions given). Instructions not specific to DPNs, 2 circs or Magic Loop.
