What sock(s) to knit contest!

by StephCat on July 1, 2009

I’m having a lot of fun working on different sock projects by participating in the Sock Knitter’s Anon group on Ravelry.

For July, we’re supposed to pick either a stranded project, a design from a ‘homegrown’ designer (designer is a member of the SKA group) or the July mystery sock.

There are multiple homegrown designs I’ve favorited, and I’m a little stumped on which to pick.

Here are my choices:

Yarns being considered include my Moonstone STR (light blue semisolid), Nature’s Palette Lupine (medium lavender semisolid), Koigu P409 (muted variegated blues), Mama Blue Troika Equestrian (brown semisolid), Sundara Khaki over Cream (khaki semisolid), Woolen Rabbit Raspberry Lime Rickey (purplish semisolid), and Sundara Cha Cha (warm orangy browns).

Post a comment with your favorite of these (or whichever you’d like to see me knit) by midnight PST this Friday July 3rdand I’ll do a random number generator thingy to pick a winner.

Prize?  set of stitchmarkers (your choice of color family) and a set of yarn themed notecards….

I vote for the Knotty or Knice. Even though most of these are in my queue.

Rivendell shows as a pattern I’ve already looked up on Ravelry, so it gets my vote. Gonna look at your other 5 choices…

For me it’s Salida all the way. They’re gorgeous! 2nd choice Knotty or Knice. What yarn are you going to use?

I love Lizzy! The pattern is beautiful and I KNOW that the Lizzy socks from your needles will be beautiful, too!

I LOVE the Knotty or Knice socks! Go with them!

I vote for Salida, they’re beautiful! A close second is Autumn in Oregon.

I LOVE the Autumn ones. That’s definitely my choice. Of course, I love the Lizzy and the Rivendell, too.

I vote for the Rivendell in the lavendar semi-solid color. I think they would be really beautiful. Glad you’re enjoying the SKA! I love that group.

I really like Lizzy – reminds me of the architecture in a church or the lines on a stained glass window – with those lines – really pretty! (that doesn’t seem to portray what I’m thinking but I hope you get the idea!)
My second choice would be the Rivendale b/c they’re so complicated and awe-inspriring :)
Can’t wait to see what you choose!!

I vote for Rivendell in lavender as well! I’ve always been drawn to that Rivendell pattern – lots of interest!

I vote for Salida in the Nature’s Palette Lupine. I have also knit Knotty or Knice and it is a GREAT pattern, I did it in orange and it turned out very pretty :-) I may have to do salida myself! Good Luck!!

So many lovely patterns, and yarns…decisions, decisions! I would like Autumn in the ChaCha (first choice), or Rivendell in the lavender (second choice). Oh wait! These aren’t for me, are they? LOL!!
Seriously, Autumn in ChaCha!!!

Another vote for the Rivendell! It’s such a beautiful pattern.

My vote is for Autumn in Oregon.

I like the Rivendell with the Fellowship Khaki semisolid Elven green! I’m a LOTR nut I’m afraid :-)

Knotty/knice in the Sundara cream – so pretty!

I like Lizzy because it will go well with tevas. The yarn? Any nice kettle dyed or from Knitpicks, or a semi-solid from an Indy dyer.

Oh…I love, love, love Lizzy and I think it would be just beautiful in the Koigu P409! I would just love to see this in the finished product!

I can’t decide between Rivendell or Lizzy, because I think they’re both gorgeous and have a little something extra to them. I would suggest if you pick one of these to go with the light-blue or khaki semi-solid to show off the pattern.

Another vote for Lizzy in the blue Koigu.
