The Zylphia Cowl is now available!
See it on Ravelry here.
I just wasn’t done with the lace patterns from Zylphia Pilots Her Airship. I’m not one for wearing scarves all that much, but I thought I will wear a simple neckwarmer/cowl sort of thing.
Worked in just a little more than a half skein of Bugga!, or your favorite luxury fingering to sport weight yarn, this is a quick, fun knit. I think, too, if you live where it gets quite cold, you could play with gauge and work this in a dk weight merino alpaca blend…
So…the contest…I make badges for the blog for each pattern. I’m not sure which I want to use for this cowl. Leave your choice of the following three (Steph, Cat, or Closeup) in the comments by midnight PST March 26th to be entered into the drawing for a pdf copy of the new Zylphia Cowl pattern.
To make this interesting (well, for me at least), I’ll give away patterns to equal 10% of the comments…so if 20 people comment, I’ll give away 2 patterns, and so on.
Um….I hope more than 10 people comment, but if they don’t, I’ll still give away 1 copy.
Contest ends midnight, PST, March 27th. I’ll post the winners on the 28th.

They’re all good choices but I really like the close up because it shows the lovely lace patterns you’ve incorporated.
I like the close up one
Closeup FTW!
Far be it from me to ever vote against a cat, but I like the closeup best, too. Which is to say, it’s the one that most makes me want to knit the pattern!

It’s really cute. Thanks for the contest. While the cat is cute, it’s the closeup that attracts my attention. Of course, seeing it on is a real bonus too. LOL But I’ll still go with the closeup.

I love them all, but I think the closeup is best! It has the best lighting and is a really nice shot of the beautiful lace.

Lovely cowl. Thanks for the giveaway. My choice is cat. Debbie in Alaska
I like all the pictures, but I think showing off the pattern in the close-up really shows off what makes this pattern special.
(I don’t need the pattern – if you pick me, please pick again…I just wanted to get my 2 cents in!
)
The close-up, definitely! You don’t want to let that gorgeous stitch pattern go unseen.
Hmm interesting, maybe you can do a combination Steph-a-cat. the pattern is very nice, this is something that i would try my hand at knitting for a first.
I like the close-up the best. It shows off the beautiful stitch pattern.
The closeup! It shows the beautiful lacework. Lovely cowl!!!!!!

The close-up really sells it — that’s my pick! Lovely cowl.
I like the close up.
I think the close-up is great to show-off the pattern. My first instinct was to pick “Steph” but it’s too difficult to see the stitches. I think all the photos are great though.

Ok, so I’ll be a little different (because I am a little different, lol). I would put kitty big and bold up front as an attention-grabber, the closeup next, prominent, but a little smaller, because it’s beautiful, and you must put yourself in, wearing the cowl, because it’s nice to see the fit (and it’s a great picture of you , too!). All 3 give such a nice perspective. I’m totally outnumbered by votes, but what they hey!
I vote closeup. It really shows how truly beautiful it is.
Another vote for the close-up from me

I love the cowl. You should chose the close-up, it shows the beautiful detail.
I vote for Closeup too. However, I’m having a really hard time not choosing a picture with a cat in it, so the zylphcat4 picture that isn’t one of your choices would have to be my second place. Thanks! P.S. Beautiful cowl and beautiful cat!
I vote for “Steph” – nice stitches are one thing, but it’s really much more helpful to get a good glimpse of how it fits.
Oh, I love the close up one … it is a beautiful cowl…

I am all for the close-up!
Another vote for the close up!
I’ve got to go with the majority here. They’re all good, but the closeup is beautiful.
I like the cat. Shows both the cowl and a kitty!
I really like the cat one, but you can’t see the cowl very well, so…sorry kitty. The close-up one is great for seeing actual stitching and beautiful design, but you still can’t see the finished cowl, so…..sorry close-up. That leaves “Steph.” I like it because you can see how big/long the cowl is and how it “wears.” I think most knitters would be able to get a mental image of the pattern by reading the instructions and doing a swatch. “Steph” it is.
Oops – I forgot to leave contact info on my comment. Judi A.’s alias is Zowmom on ravelry. thanks.
as cute as that cat one is, i think your close-up shot shows off the cowl the best.
I like the Close up for sure

I like the Steph one because I love to see how a project is worn on a real person.
Hands down it has to be listed in the “Cat” section. Here’s hoping that I win that pattern and if not, I’ll still read your blog daily. Thanks!
LOVE the closeup pic – shows the pattern so well. Thanks for the fun.

I pick the CLOSEUP image – it show the beautiful lace work so well
I love the cat shot, but I would say the closeup is the best, especially because I am a sucker for detail. I think it shows the ingenuity of the design the best!

Although I too love your cats, it was hard to choose, since the close up as many have chosen shows the stunning pattern and color best, I personally like the first picture of it being worn, you look happy wearing it too, thanks for the contest too!
