Simone was released yesterday afternoon. Lace, beading, cashmere…ooh la la.
Here’s all the details:
Simone is worked in separate pieces, with the band worked first, bodice worked top down and grafted to the band, then the lower portions picked up from the band and worked down.
Diagrams are included to help obtain proper measurements for the bodice construction.
Simone is decadently gratifying for both process and project knitters.

So…I was thinking it might be fun to show you some of the bits from the design process.

Above is my initial swatch and the two sketches I submitted. The actual finished design combines elements of both of the sketches: the v necks and overskirt/skirt from one, and the beaded band from the other.

Please consider “Simoneâ€, a beaded and gently ruffled camisole, for inclusion in the Spring Sanguine Gryphon pattern line. Included is a swatch photo, sketch & details.
This cami, combining a beaded panel, surplice top, and gentle ruffles would be wonderful in Bugga (for the beaded band) and Little Bugga (for the remainder).
- Beaded band is worked first;Â top is picked up from edge and worked up, bottom is picked up from opposite edge and worked down.
- Sized for XS-3X
- Surplice neckline/bodice (or simple v neck)
- Empire waist/ band sits just under bust
- Sleeveless
An alternative design would be stranded band rather than beaded and intarsia in the round for the bottom portion, incorporating 2 shades in the ruffles. This could be done in 2 shades of Little Traveller for an ethereal look.
A second alternate would have overlaying panels of Little Traveller over a different colored underlayer.
I usually try to be more specific and just give one concrete design, but I had many different ideas re: the different possible elements.
