Shades of Green, by Erica Jackofsky, 52 pp. $18 PDF, $20 print.
I’m very happy to be part of Erica’s Shades of Green blog tour! Erica’s put together a great collection of patterns in a clean, well-styled package that’s lovely to explore.
The Shades of Green collection includes a variety of patterns inspired by, yes, various shades of green. It also includes tidbits of green facts: the meaning of green, serpentine stone, etc.
The patterns are primarily accessories: five hats, a scarf, and two shawls. One of the hats, Green with Envy, is unisex and shown modeled on a man (husband?). Also included are a few small home accessories: two travel mug cozies and a cellphone sock. The Peridot Tunic rounds out the collection.

Both charted and line by line instructions are included. Each pattern includes multiple photographs showing the pertinent details of the item. Thorough pattern notes are included as needed (primarily for the first shawl).
None of these patterns seem particularly tricky (Erica rates them as Intermediate), and most would knit up very quickly — holiday gifts, anyone?

I love all the patterns – but I’d have to say the Green Travel Mug is what I’d make first.
Thanks for the chance.

I love the A Certain Shade of Green shawl, but I would probably knit it for meeee.
My favorite is the Garden Grove Slouch Hat. It looks like a quick knit, so I would probably make it for several people on my Christmas list (and one for me!!!).

I would like to try A Certain Shade of Green Shawl I would knit it for myself I have the perfect skein of yarn for it too.
I would love to knit the Peridot Tunic – not just because it’s my birthstone but also because it has long been my favorite shade of green. The lace is a classy upgrade for a summer top!
I would knit th Blackberry Blossom Scarf for myself. I have been wanting to incorporate beads in my knitting. This has beads in the cast on.
I am a fan of Erica’s, her signature style appeals to me. I like her hats a lot. In this collection, I love the Garden Grove Slouch hat.
I think my first one would be the Blackberry Blossom Scarf – for myself, because I’m a shawl addict, and because a beaded cast-on sounds like quite a challenge. I can see several of the hats as gifts though, I especially like the Garden Grove Slouch Hat.
I really like the green with envy hat. I have a couple of guys on my Christmas list to knit for that would look great in this.

I think my favorite is the Blackberry Blossom Scarf, which I’d love to make for my sister-in-law who was just diagnosed with cancer. (I can’t see her using a traditional shawl or chemo cap)
I would make the green travel mug cozy for my best friend who could use some indulgence for her long commute and yuchy job.
I really like A Certain Shade of Green … probably for myself.
first up would be the Certain Green of Shade Shawl….. and I would use some nice warm and smooshy merino.
I would like my mom to knit the Green with Envy hat for me, of course. Thanks mom!
