Sw’Elegant
Sw’Elegant: fingerless mittens with simple lace, traveling stitches, seed stitch, knit in cozy alpaca at a dense gauge.

Also available through Knit Picks with original thumb gusset; pattern on Ravelry includes two thumb gusset options.
Fingerless gloves can be very utilitarian.
These are most definitely NOT.
Lace, wrapped stitches, twisted traveling stitches: this pattern has a lot going on. However, each individual section is logical, and it is easy to read what comes next.
Knit in soft alpaca at a dense gauge, they will assuredly keep your hands deliciously warm.
Finished size: Fits up to women’s medium/large 8” circumference around palm.
Needles: US2/2.75 mm, or size to obtain gauge. Your choice of Magic Loop, 2 circulars or DPNs.
Gauge: 30 sts & 40 rows over 4” in St st in the rnd. This gauge in this yarn produces a nice dense fabric that shows off the traveling stitches.
Notions: at least 3 stitch markers; tapestry needle; waste yarn or extra circular needle for provisional cast on; cable needle, DPN or other item to use in making wrapped stitches (I just use the tapestry needle).
Skills needed: reading charts, lace, twisted stitches, provisional cast on, hemmed bind off.
